We have now decided on the distribution company that we would use to distribute the film, and we have decided to use Momentum Pictures. The reasoning for this is because it is a british distributor that has distibuted many good british films such as The Kings Speech. It won 8 BAFTAs in February 2011, seven for the kings speech and one for The girl with the Dragon Tattoo. In the past they have won OSCARs, BAFTAs and BIFAs. This will be perfect for our film as it is meant to be a British mainstream film so this company will be good for this.

about the script
We decided to make a script even though it is only a two minute opening. We did this to know exactly what the opening would run like so we were prepared before the filming. It took us two weeks to complete as there was various changes that we wanted to make with ideas to make the opening even better.

1. EXT: BOURNEMOUTH TOWN, MAIN TOWN, DAYLIGHT.
-BEACH-
Few people walk along the beach
walking dogs and enjoying the sun.
CUT
TO:
We are above the city (wide shot)
showing the tall building and cars down below that pass.
CUT
TO:
-BEACH-
We focus onto a Scarlett who is sat
on a wall eating and drinking. Then her phone goes off and she pulls her phone
out of her coat pocket then opens the message.
“We need to meet. Usual place, need to sort this mess out”
CUT
TO:
-PARK-
We see a variety of shots of
Scarlett walking through the park, towards the meeting place.
The final shot of Scarlett we see
is her using her power to heat up her coffee, the shot turn into a comic /
drawing as the title appears.
Outside the entrance of the
shopping centre a young woman approaches with loads of designer shopping bags.
Then she stops and pulls her phone out.
“We need to sort this mess out, meet at usual place.”
Autumn looks confused and starts to
look around, not sure what to do.
AUTUMN
Bloody hell
CUT
TO:
She walks through the same gardens
that Scarlett walked through. She walks past some flowers and they quickly die
showing how powerful her powers her mixed with her emotions and feelings.
CUT
TO:
Outside a café we are CU on a glass
of water. It is picked up and a few seconds later the glass is put down and is
empty. Then the hand floats over the glass and it fills with water again. (CARTOON
SHOT STILL) The hand picks up the glass and we follow it and come to a woman
called Flo.
As she takes a gulp of it we CUT TO
A POV and the glass in out and face and then come away, in front are Scarlett
and Autumn standing there looking annoyed.(THEN WE CUT TO A COMIC BOOK STYLED FRAMES
WITH THE THREE GIRLS EYES IN EACH FRAME)
We then pan from Flo and come to
the main sign of the café that reads “ELEMENTS” across the window. FADE INTO
title card of Elements with the third E switching round into a 3.
CUT
TO:
FLO
Oh for god’s sake girls! I didn’t text you to come here, drink
coffee and not even bother talking.
AUTUMN
What is there to talk about? The past is the past, it stays like
that.
SCARLETT
I agree with Autumn, let’s just keep with our own ways now.
Oh come on girls at one point we were notorious and now, I’m
working in a shop Scarlett is unemployed and you Autumn, well you’re doing well
but still that’s not the point. We need to fix what happened in the past, I
don’t mean go back to our old ways but at least be friends again.

Research and planning
Actors
We have three main actresses who are Jess Young, Zoe Chapple and Effie Robinson. We also have various Extra appearances such as Joseph Marshall. We will be filming in daytime in bournemouth so there will be many people around anyway.
Location
we are thinking that we will film mostly in bournemouth at various different locations such as the beach, the park, a shopping centre etc. we will also be filming the cafe scene in ringwood as there is a good place to film there.
Costumes
our costumes will be quite simple as we just want to have normal casual clothes to show they are in every day life.

Outside a café is
stood a young blonde woman wearing normal clothes (a bit fashionable). Then
Scarlett and autumn both approach each other (ignoring) and looking at Flo who
is at the door.
Then camera pans up
and above the café the sign “Elements” shining purple. Then we morph into a
comic book writing of “Elements”.
CUT TO:
They are all sitting
outside the café and having a drink. They are all silent and ignoring each
other. Flo looks angry with her arms crossed. (Glass in front of her that she
finishes)
I didn’t just text asking you too to come
here and make us more bloody awkward.
Flo opens her hand
at the empty glass as it slowly refills.
JESS
This sucks.
ZOE
What do you mean “this sucks”? We are here to
sought what happened a few months ago.
EFFIE
Well no offence Scarlett and especially you
Flo, but it’s all in the past.
ZOE
In the past we used to be superhero’s now
were normal citizens.

Target audience ideas
Our target audience will be a mostly 15-25+ year old base with a rough change either way, In this group the film will be aimed at a mainstream audience with a possibility of moving to film buff etc.
Films such as Spiderman and Batman have been aimed at this sort of audience and they have proved to be huge successes.
Other films such as Kick-Ass which you could be seen as a competitor as they are both about young aspiring superheroes. Kick-Ass was a huge success in with the teenagers so this would be a perfect audience for our Film.

New planning ideas
we are currently at the stage of our scripting and storyboarding and this is our planning so far in more detail: Scarlett is on the beach and gets a text from Flo and starts walking through the park and she heats up her coffee, joe makes cameo role walking past and trips over a bin or something similar. Autumn gets the same text when she comes out of a shop with loads of bags. Flo is waiting outside the cafe with her phone out when the other two arrive and there is an awkward tension in the room as they sit together.
