What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?Our brief was that we had to make a British comic book film aimed at a female audience. Considering this we had to look into what British distribution companies there was. We did some research and then created a shortlist of options which included: momentum pictures, twentieth century fox, M-G-M and paramount pictures UK.
Out of these we then began to consider what type of films they tended to distribute. From this we discovered that M-G-M, paramount and twentieth century fox tended to distribute big blockbuster movies from big institutions whereas Momentum pictures did more British films, and many from independent film companies. Films such as The King’s speech, the girl with the dragon tattoo and The woman in black helped us decide to use it momentum pictures as they are the best company to use as an independent film company.
